Prepare yourselves, my friends! This is a stunner of a wedding. Not only because the people in it are gorgeous, but there’s a lot of heart and sweetness I’d like to share with you all.
Leigh and Nick are crazy connected. They are both playful, romantic, and adventurous. They are the kind of people who light up everyone around them and the chemistry between them was extremely easy to capture. I think these two rarely had their hands and eyes off one another.
He proposed in an apple orchard and afterward gave her a letter to open on their wedding day. Her reading it was an insanely sweet moment.
Their wedding was held at the gorgeous Ewing Manor in Bloomington. She told me in her inquiry that she had always imagined getting married there so it was a sort of dream come true. Shooting there it was easy to see why: it’s the thing of fairy tales. The estate originally belonged to Hazle and Davis Ewing who designed the home with inspiration from architecture seen on their year-long trip around the world. It’s a sort of post-victorian mansion on wooded acres decked out with fountains and elaborate gardens. It was a priority to feel like the grounds and how magical they are were adequately captured.
The wedding itself was on the intimate side. The ceremony was short and sweet and most of the energy of the day was focused on having a great time. Leigh and Nick are marvelous hosts. They chatted with and embraced everyone. They wore beaming smiles and danced the entire reception. They treated me like a great friend: making great conversation and sending me home full (and with a party favor!). They are the kind of people I still get in touch with for advice about traveling as they seem to have visited the coolest of places.
I also need to thank Adrienne (who you may recognize) for being a wonderful assistant to me this wedding. As a former SLL bride, great friend, and photographer herself, I knew she would bring an excellent perspective and help keep me on track. You rock Adrienne!
Enjoy all the pretty and sweetness, folks! This was certainly one of the very best :]
