Hello clients and friends! As you know (if you’ve been following along that is), we recently bought an old home here in downtown Bowling Green and have spending a lot of our free time getting it ready to move in! Things are coming along… slowly. There hasn’t been much time to blog lately. However as things get settled I want to make a commitment to sharing more from our 2017 season with you all! There is something just soothing about going back over a gallery already delivered. I get such a nostalgia for the times I’ve had the honored to photograph.
I thought I’d start with this amazing day up in the Chicago area. Justine was actually a bridesmaid in a wedding I had shot in 2015 (shout out to Anita and Ben for the referral!) and I was so pumped when she and Paul got in touch about documenting their day. After our skype date I knew that I was already obsessed with these two. Talking with them felt like chatting up old friends. They told me about their two cats and how they picked the first venue they visited because “the food was good.” Together they are a force of *chill* that can only be understood once you meet them. They both have this constant lightheartedness, warmth, and quick sense of humor. They have real genuine fun around each other and their easygoing personalities really set the tone for a relaxed, emotional, and joyful day.
Ganer and I flew up and were charmed by the entire experience. The town, this couple, their friends and family. We laughed and cried with them. Everything felt sincere. We ate lithuanian “tree” cake (which if you ever have the opportunity I HIGHLY recommend!) and sampled the Sangria. The playlist contained songs we had never heard before but immediately became obsessed with (such as this one). I loved loved loved the touches of marsala and gold, Justine’s wispy braids and both of her shoes. The guys were decked out in an incredibly handsome shade of navy. The setting felt mediterranean yet was right downtown. The details were simple and chic. Keep an eye out for the amazing placecard holders!
We had an absolute blast. Justine and Paul, thank you for embracing us as your friends and documentarians. We will cherish this delightful day forever!
