Ahh do I have a stunner for you! I had the unique opportunity to shoot some really rad prom photos with who I’m certain must be the coolest kids in town. Usually my May months are booked up with weddings but I got to take these on a rare Saturday off! Katelynn’s sister Ashley (who did an amazing job on Katelynn’s hair and makeup) got in touch with me just a couple of weeks ago. I wasn’t quite sure what they were hoping for, but after callborating on some ideas I realized we were a perfect fit! Katelynn was hoping for something a little different: a unique setting with a vintage vibe. I did a little digging and got in touch with Steve, owner of the Morgenthaler Potter’s Castle here in BG. He was kind enough to let me scout the place in the middle of recent renovations. I fell in love and knew we had the perfect fit for Katelynn’s vision. The place looked even more stellar when we arrived. As we were shooting I kept pinching myself at what a unique experience this was. The home is a historic site with major renovations only recently being completed. Soon it will become a rental so this was a truly once in a lifetime experience. I can’t imagine the wonderful memories these two will have when they look back on their prom.
I also LOVE the idea of committing to a full shoot on prom day. Nothing can replace the shots taken by mom and even the group shots with a pro are special. However, this shoot was a perfect way to celebrate this fleeting time in their lives. Katelynn and Andrew both looked stellar. It was only fitting to roam about a castle posing and laughing together. They joy they share as friends made them incredibly easy to work with. I’m thrilled to be the one to document these amazing memories for them!
A million thank you’s to Steve for letting us borrow this Bowling Green beauty!
And thank you again to Katelynn and Andrew for bringing me in to photograph this incredible evening for you! I only wish I had the same thinking when I attended prom myself. I know it was an amazing night and I wish you two nothing but the best!
