It’s been too quiet around here. This has been a GREAT year for me with weddings in both the summer and fall (fall is actually busier than summer was)! I promise to take some time to share my work with you more. It makes me happy when I get to and I’ve captured so many beautiful moments in the last few months.
As you know from my last post, my fiance and I are now located in Bloomington, Illinois. Relocating the business hasn’t been the easiest feat, as much of my work was referral based. However, I have been incredibly lucky in that I know people in the area through my experiences doing forensics. Especially lucky for me is that the people on the ISU speech team are incredibly kind, fun, and down to earth people. I know Maureen through forensics and she was an incredibly talented and inspiring competitor. I was thrilled when she agreed to let me photograph her and Andrew before their little one arrived. I wanted to do something a little different. As you know, my style is very much influenced my lifestyle photography. Instead of moving through a series of poses, I instead let moments happen as they happen in a natural environment with only slight direction from me. I love it because of how authentic the photographs come out. I also catch things that I never could if I directed every moment. Instead, we have encapsulated a series of moments that although they are ordinary and everyday– they define the relationship and emotions of a family more than a series of poses ever could. I love love these images and my hope is to continue shooting this way.
As you can see, they are an ADORABLE couple. The cat is cute, too! Thanks so much you guys! I can’t wait to see you guys as a family unit!
