Happy Monday everyone! We have a seriously lovely little affair to share with you. Audra got in touch with me shortly after I had moved to Bloomington, IL. Audra and Ben grew up in IL and went to rivaling high schools. She noticed Ben (and how cute she thought he was) at a basketball game, looked up his number in the phone book and the two were fast friends. Even after the two went away to college and lived in various places about the country, they maintained a close friendship. Eventually they began to date and he proposed in 2010. The couple were doing a tasting at a vineyard in carbondale. He had poured a glass of wine and as they were watching the sun set, he popped the question!
They knew they wanted a small wedding in the fall. This October the two made it happen and it was beautiful. Neither like being the center of attention and wanted to keep the even close and intimate. I believe about 25 guests in total attended. I’m so incredibly glad they picked me. It’s amazing to “click” so immediately with a client and their vision. They too love all things vintage, nostalgic, personal, and handmade. Ben’s mother did an incredible job decorating their home which is where the reception was held. From the second I walked in the door everyone made me feel so comfortable and at home. It was a really refreshing wedding to shoot. I loved having so much time with the couple, getting to talk with all of the guests, and to witness the closeness of their family.
