Warning! Big Post ahead! You can ask anyone who has booked us and they will tell you that we are over shooters. This [happy] problem is compounded when the people that are getting married are folks that we love dearly. Ben and Jenny have been two of our greatest friends for years now. They are adored by many because as individuals, they are gracious, kind, and generous. They are both empathetic and eager to take care of people. They are both gorgeous and immensely talented. Together they make a stunning power couple.
They have been there for us countless times. Jenny is always willing to listen, offer advice, and maybe a glass of wine. Ben is a superman like character who somehow has a pulse on everyone around him, ready to open a door, help carry something, or offer a compliment. It is a really rare thing to be around one person that is so emotionally giving. To have two such people get married is a really powerful thing.
Their wedding was like witnessing an army of loved ones try to give that same love back. It was explosive, energetic, and emotional. So much so that the officiant (also a great friend) wrote a parody with fellow friends and musicians to the tune of Frozen’s “Let it Go.” He described having mutually exclusive crushes on both Ben and Jenny and how this wedding was the ultimate test of his ability to “let her/him go.” It was probably a true struggle for many in the audience. These two are simply magnetic.
Being both documentarians and bridal “party people” we got to tag along to all of the fun. We celebrated, drank, and took lots of photos. So yes, this is a bigger post that normal, but we promise it’s worth it!
Congrats to Jenny and Ben! We are so lucky to have you in our lives!
Day 1: The Bachelor/ette/NYE party at Jeremy’s!
Day 2- Rehearsal & Dinner at La Gala in Bowling Green KY! Still dreaming of that pasta.
Day 3- The big day! BTW this is what it looks like when you CHOOSE to stay present instead of worrying about the weather. It rained, snowed, sleeted and did all kinds of things that day and these two seriously could care less. They were so full of joy and love that they warmed up all of BG that day. As long as you stay in it and remember the real point of the day [get married to your best friend while your loved ones watch on], you will shine!
& then they rode into the storm… to steak’n shake.
